| Portraits
aren't just color anymore. Bronzes and Black & Whites are both
very popular. While most of our bronze and B&W portraiture is
done as additional poses with color sittings, each is available
individually if you prefer. Each has its own distinctive look.
Bronze
Their warm brown hue is a distinctive
look that works well both outdoors and in the studio. Bronzes
range from completely contemporary to period pieces. In fact,
we named them bronzes to separate them from the classic sepia
and brown toned portraits. While very beautiful, these earlier,
expensive images used up silver. Our bronzes are done with
a single color film and printed on color paper so costs are
the same as color portraits.
Black
& White
The richness of these images comes
from traditional silver based materials. Maize Photography
does not use the less expensive dye based substitutes. Very
fine silver particles actually
make the images on our negatives and the prints you receive.
B&W portraits have their own separate price list. They deserve
it.
Color
Here in rural western Pennsylvania,
color portraits have been the primary portrait product for
two to three decades. Everyone is so used to them that they
often take them for granted. At Maize Photography, we know
there is more to it than that. There are many ways to use
color. It varies from bold to subtle, from bright gels to
white. We excel at matching color palettes and lighting to
your clothing and style preferences.
